What are cookies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They let the site remember your actions and preferences over time, and they're widely used to make websites work efficiently and to provide reporting information.

We use cookies in line with the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) — the UK rules that sit alongside the UK GDPR. For non-essential cookies, we ask for your consent before setting them.

Types we use

Strictly necessary

Required for the site to function. Without them, things like security and form submission wouldn't work. These are set without consent, under PECR Reg 6(1).

Analytics

Help us understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it. These are only set if you consent.

Functional

Remember choices you make (such as theme preference or form entries in progress). Optional — only set with consent.

Marketing

We don't currently run advertising cookies on the Service. If that changes, we'll update this page and request consent before setting them.

Cookie list

The table below sets out the cookies currently in use. Cookie names and lifetimes are indicative — third-party tools may update them without notice.

Name Type Purpose Duration
PHPSESSID Strictly necessary Maintains your session across page loads (e.g. form validation state). Session
cookie_consent Strictly necessary Records your cookie consent preference. 6 months
_ga Analytics Distinguishes unique visitors. Set only with consent. 2 years
_ga_* Analytics Maintains session state for Google Analytics 4. 2 years
cf_* Strictly necessary Security and bot protection (set by our edge provider). Session

Third-party cookies

We don't currently embed third-party advertising or tracking pixels. Any third-party tooling is listed in the table above and only activates with your consent. Where we embed content (videos, slides) in future, we'll disclose it here.

Managing cookies

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you refuse cookies or alert you when one is being set. If you disable strictly necessary cookies, some features may not work.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our use of cookies changes. The "Last updated" date above reflects the current version. New cookie categories will be added here before they go live.
